Wow! This protein product is trash! But they are really popular.
Heck, the company was even taken to court because they were found to NOT contain the amount of protein stated on the label!
Find out what it is and the 2 BIG ISSUES with this product below – you’ll be shocked! (direct video link on YouTube here)…
NOTE: I’m going to do more YouTube videos this year so please subscribe to my YouTube Channel here and also click the little bell icon so you get notified when I publish a new video 🙂
I highly encourage you NOT to buy these Lenny & Larry’s Complete Cookies.
Yep, labratory tests revealed they contained 4-9g protein per cookie and they were forced to pay out $2.3 million to customers. But that’s not all…
The QUALITY of the protein is crap – as far as us “iron heads” are concerned. See my last post here for more protein protein quality and “bio-availbility”.
The 3 protein sources found in this cookie are:
- Pea Protein
- Wheat Protein
- Rice Protein
These plant proteins are inferior as they have lower bio-availability scores – bioavailability refers to the amount of protein that your body can actually use. The lower the score, the less that can be used. And it’s not great!
- Pea Protein Bioavailability score – 65
- Wheat Protein Bioavailability score – 54
- Rice Protein Bioavailability score – 74
Any protein snack like a bar or cookie should always be predominantly made from whey, egg, and/or milk protein. Always check those ingredients, guys!
This is especially relevant when you’re on a shredding diet to get a six-pack as you could end up losing muscle with these inferior proteins.
Here’s the bioavailability scores for the best proteins:
- Whey Protein Blends – 100-159
- Whole Egg – 100
- Cow’s Milk – 91
- Egg White – 88
Or do as I do and opt to make your own instead of buying store bought bars and cookies.
These new Buff Bars and Buff Cookies, and Protein Ice Cream (called protein “fluff”) are from my newly revised and updated Buff Baking 3 Anabolic Cookbook.
Only 3 ingredients, cheap, really easy to make, and the protein is all whey – the highest quality protein on the planet.
Or the last option…just eat food. And get the majority of your protein from animal sources – since the completeness and bio-availability is vastly superior to plant sources.
P.S. Want my workout? Train 3 or 5 days a week and see visible gains within 2 weeks! Just like Josh did below.
Hope that helps you make better choices ~ Mark McManus 🙂
P.S. I know that putting together a diet for mass gains or getting shredded abs can be a pain in the butt, especially if you are new to this – that’s why I offer a service where I will do all the tough ground work for you.
You probably don’t know how many calories you need, or how many grams of protein, carbs or fat you need (based on your personal stats)…BUT I DO. Then I can take these numbers and create an exact meal plan for you to hit those numbers spot on! You’ll know what foods to eat and even when to eat them. All you have to do…is do it. No thinking involved. If you’d like me to take care of this for you, see the Get Me Shredded option on my Coaching Page here.
