Is it normal to rock a six-pack all year round? In the world of MuscleHack, it most certainly is.
Of course the bodybuilding orthodoxy tells us we must have bulking periods (adding muscle and fat) and cutting periods (losing fat and muscle). Thank God it’s not true!
I don’t just THINK they are wrong. I KNOW they are.
You can add muscle without fat. And you can lose fat while still getting stronger and preserving, if not building, muscle.
I do it. I teach others how to do it.
Here is a testimonial from a 53 year old who did it. He’s Donald Blum from New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. His Facebook profile is here.
He calls it the “New Normal”. Having a six-pack year round and continuing to build muscle is indeed the new normal. Get used to it 😀
“Mark,
I suppose this might be one of your more unusual testimonials because of my age. I took the ‘after picture’ (below) recently during my summer Total Six Pack Abs cycle.
I’m stopped sometimes at the gym and asked what I eat and how I train. Of course, I refer them to your site. But the most frequent question I get is, “How old are you?” When I tell them I’m 53, they usually say, “I hope I look as good when I’m 53”. I have to admit it’s good to hear.
I come from an undefined looking, long-distance running and cycling background probably overeating carbs and undereating protein even for a running program.
I’d weight train on and off during times when I got bored with running and cycling. For the past couple of years, though, I do Total Six Pack Abs during the spring/summer and THT/GLAD during the fall/winter. I’ve made steady, real gains, kept the body fat down, and pretty much look and feel just as good as ever.
Your programs are great. Thanks for the new normal.
Donald Blum.
P.S. I don’t have any ‘flabby’ pictures because I’ve always been active – running/cycling. I have a pic attached showing how I looked before in races – kind of lean.

You want to get ripped up? Get muscular? And stay that way forever? You can. And it’s the new normal! See Total Six Pack Abs for more.
By the way, here’s more testimonial evidence for the power of this program; received on Saturday.
Can you imagine how fast you’ll have your six-pack if you are losing body fat at this kinda speed!? There’s a calculator on the TSPA sales page that’ll tell you just how fast you’ll get there.
With the utmost enthusiasm and confidence, I encourage you to get your copy of TSPA and get ripped. It’s not just a diet. It contains its own modified THT training program to keep you gaining as you torch all your unwanted fat off.
Once you’re shredded, come back to regular THT training and implement the GLAD or MANS diet along with it to ensure that you add muscle and muscle only. GLAD and MANS allow for lean gains only.
Bulking and Cutting is DEAD! Welcome to the NEW NORMAL!
Mark
Great work!!!! Marks program is the best and this proves it
Great to see, he’s about three times my age and looks better than me! 😛 Fair play to him!
I’ll admit I’m a cynic, but I’m also over 40 years old and I can say that I’m fairly confident that Mr. Rivers shouldn’t neglect to consider that TRT has something to do with his ability to gain that six-pack at 53.
Nothing wrong with being on TRT… it is only fair to level the playing field as we age, but it should be mentioned.

Sorry…not Mr. Rivers above, but “Donald.”
I got thrown by that tweet from Mr. Rivers.
hey Mark quick question what kind of vanilla extract is ok for low carb? can it have sugar alcohols.?
@Doug. How did you reach that conclusion? Purely because he has a six-pack in his fifties? Hardly a fair comment when you don’t know the man. And I’m sure he would have mentioned it.
@Jesh. Any vanilla extract is fine. They don’t have sugar alcohols in them (to my knowledge). They’re usually just very small bottles labeled as pure vanilla extract.
Wow. At 53 he looks better than I do and I am 14 years younger! Good work.
