(1) JEAN PIERRE-FUX
During a photo-shoot in 2002, an accident brought a swift end to Jean Pierre’s career. It was a squatting mishap that damaged his knees and quadriceps irreversibly.
(2) TOM PRINCE
Pretty dramatic difference, eh? Unfortunately Tom’s kidney’s shut down back in 2003 forcing an end to his bodybuilding career.
(3) FLEX WHEELER
Flex looked amazing! A rare kidney disease forced him to hang it up back in 2002.
But…it’s important to note here, at age 52 Flex is making a comeback. In fact, here’s a video documenting his return. You might want to check it out before moving on to no.4.
(4) MUSTAFA MOHAMMED
Only 3 years between these pics. I don’t know the full story here. As far as I know, there was no accident or disease. I assume he just hung it up and perhaps remove some potent “supplements” from his diet (I don’t want to get sued). I guess some people just don’t want to be massive their whole life.
(5) CHRIS CORMIER
This Wikipedia entry says that in 2006 Chris “was hospitalized with an infected spine, resulting from a bodybuilding-related injury”. This meant the end of Chris’ bodybuilding career and a major loss of gains.

I’d would be heart broken to lose that amount of muscle. But I’ve never taken steroids :p So it won’t happen to me
There’s a great iconic book about modern masculinity by Robert Bly called ‘Iron John’ that is recommended reading. He links TRUE masculinity to such archaic concepts as ‘the warrior’, but highlights that classical warriors of all societies were ETHICAL, had codes of conduct and chivalry, and were poets and creative too, often self sacrificial. Modern man is unnatural and has lost this and become mother-fixated on one hand, and brute macho on the other. Anyone who wants to look like those over-hypertrophied OCD madmen is …. mad. Even with the likes of old movie heroes, the ideal was ELEGANT athleticism, not dumb thuggery. Greek statues didn’t look like these freaks. The MHack system is natural, balanced and scientific (though I think the 5-day split is more sustainable long term). The results would be more natural and classical, as Mark displays.
@Will. I agree with you on that, buddy. The word I would use in “honour”. Men should be honourable, masculine and muscular if they chose to look that way.
But the kind of monstrous physiques we see sometimes is as a result of inferiority complexes, quite the opposite of real confidence.
To look natural and jacked, there is no need to use weights that are so extreme that they injure you. There are plenty of exercises that will put plenty of stress and enough challenge on muscles to create best effect without unnecessary stress on joints and ligaments. Drug enhancement that overdoes hypertrophy is asking for trouble. Did not several champions have major surgery including joint replacements.

@Dawn. Muscle will atrophy when not used – even for us naturals. However, people will lose steroid gains much quicker.

should add guys who lost there gains and don’t train whatsoever..
